the apps on the tizen platform are limited, e.g. no abc or nbc live news app. the number of apps in comparison to roku is less than 1/5 of what is available on roku. the number of ads and “recommendations” also fill up way too much of the home screen, compared to roku. moreover, our tv has a defect along the edge sealing the screen to the edge. see attached photo. the reason for 4-stars versus less, is because it’s wonderful to get 4k on a small (32”) screen. perfect for our kitchen.

i have an old entertainment center with a peculiar range for displays that fit. with that in mind, i chose this q50r 4k 32 inch. it's been amazing for the almost-year i've had it. my friend has another samsung 32 inch 720p budget tv, and this *blows* it out of the water - not only in terms of resolution, but with app speed, speaker quality, color accuracy, brightness, and contrast (no shade, samsung). it is expensive, but i don't expect that i'll need a new tv for a long, long time. i also have a very competitively priced budget 32 inch tv from another popular manufacturer, and while it's fine, you get what you pay for. you pay a premium for this q50, and you can see it in every detail.

this is the most expensive 32 inch tv on the market so i expected it to work with out any problems. turning it on for the first time and i was very disappointed. a massive discoloration white/gray bar right in the middle of the tv making the tv completely unwatchable. there was no damage during shipment as the tv had no scratches or cracks. i ask where is the quality control? i had to spent one hour with customer service to get the instructions on how to return. i did test out the picture a little i could but i would say, the tv is not worth $500. i have seen tv's that cost $200 with the same picture quality if not better. the tv does not get bright and colors are dull and washed out. now, i would have to go to the hassle of packing up and returning the unit. i expected better from samsung

great picture quality. the samsung tv plus channels were a surprise and a plus. the streaming apps work fast with zero log. worth the premium over cheap 32 inch tv

Full of bugs, Volume is too low, voice remote need

The tv volume is too low for many streaming channels. The remote control needs a tutorial because it's not intuitive. The firmware is buggy. numerous times I receive the message "can't perform requested action because i'm processing many requests ", which is not true because I only asked it to do one thing. Voice command needs a lot of work. Turned on the tv and it took several minutes to play the samsung tv channel, displayed retry message eventually.
