I recently purchased this model as a replacement for our 25 year-old Whirlpool model. It is installed under-counter and slid right into the old hole with no problem. I recommend the filter - we started without one and the ice had a noticeable chlorine odor that went away when I installed the plug-in filter. Ease of filter replacement is a great feature.

This unit stopped making ice and getting service is a pain. The Kitchenaid service site is worthless . Would not buy again. Now have to buy ice at the market. What’s the point of this product?
