Poor Quality

Made terrible. First the gear kit was replaced now the motor drive went. Called Kitchen Aid and they were NOT helpful at all! I felt like they could care less at the end of the day they still got paid. Do not buy this product you will be disappointed. Why can't they make something that last?

I had an existing KithcenAid compactor for 22 years and worked great with no service calls, expect solid pack stopped working several years ago. Wife wanted stainless instead of white and purchased this unit to replace. Mechanics of units are basically identical. Old unit very easy to remove. Had to adjust wheels and height to give best installation. Then just slip into existing space. Very easy to do and unit is working fine. I would recommend this unit and hope I get the same service as I did from the original unit.
