Buyer beware - broke in less than two weeks

Bought this microwave to replace a 6 year old Whirlpool because light under the Whirlpool failed and couldn't be fixed. Used my new microwave lightly - mainly boiling water and heating frozen veggies - for 11 days. Went to boil some water in a Pyrex measuring cup and after a minute realized that while the microwave was running, it suddenly sounded much more quiet. Got worried and opened the door at which point the display and all the lights went out. Checked the breaker and the outlet; both are fine. Needless to say, I will NOT be replacing this one with another GE!

Poor Quality

In less than two years after I purchased the GE Profile Microwave Oven, the door is chipped, the filter door cannot be closed due to the broken latch, and the entire plastic part of the filter is cracked. See photos. I am the only person who uses this microwave oven and I am a senior citizen. The guarantee is only for a year.
